Job summary:

We are seeking a Engineering Manager, with experience in developing scalable SaaS applications and leading and managing high performing distributed teams, to join our growing company and be a part of our success story.

We are looking for an individual with great leadership and team handling skills, strong hands on experience in software development, and excited to work in a fun and friendly fast paced environment.

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Manage a team (comprising Software Engineers, Sr. Software Engineers, QA Engineers), including providing the technical direction, task allocation and code reviews.
  • Drive technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
  • Owns overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects.
  • Contribute technically to projects.
  • Work closely with the Product Management team to ensure we're building the best products which deliver value to our clients.
  • Set up best practices for development, champion their adoption
  • Work closely with team to estimate and plan projects in an Agile environment
  • Managing customer issues and escalations and tracking the Customer SLAs closely
  • Defining/evolving and enforcing relevant software development processes for the Engineering team.
  • Ensuring that the team complies to the quality standards
  • Active communication and coordination with clients and internal stakeholder
  • Motivating the team, mentoring and helping them in developing their careers, perform performance appraisals
  • Participate in hiring different roles required in the team


Qualifications


What You Need to Succeed at BlueOptima:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 10- 12 years in the software industry and 3-5 years of experience managing customer facing software development teams.
  • Minimum of 5 years of software product development experience, and hands on technical work with full life cycle implementations.
  • Experience in Web application development / Hosted solutions
  • Comfortable guiding teams in an Agile environment
  • Should have worked in cross functional teams (product management, development, QA, sales, customers), should be able understand team dynamics and priorities of each functional stakeholder and work with them to meet project goals
  • Should be assertive, able to resolve conflicts and gain consensus in cross functional teams
  • Adaptable to changing business requirements and priorities
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, build effective teams and to motivate, direct and coach team members; ability to manage multi-site teams
  • Strong Java, Database fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of and experience in, maintaining mission critical applications with 24x7 operations, 5 9’s availability (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of AWS, Springboot, ReactJS, Postgres (Desirable)
